I think the images speak for themselves as to the nature of the project.
All edges of the MDF have been lipped in pine which will enable a painter to achieve a really professional finish. Trying to paint a raw unlipped edge of MDF is like trying to paint a sponge.
The painter happens to be their son who said he will paint these as a Christmas Present . He is a professional self-employed painter. That’s a really practical Christmas Present and it will take at least a whole weekend if not longer from start to finish
The customer did not want floating shelves so the more traditional approach was taken with battens . I tried to keep these to minimum sizes to avoid them becoming unsightly. The shelves have been double edged so back and front to avoid the sagging seen with so many shelves.
A three door cupboard means that the doors when opened do not come into the room too much – the space was not available to allow two doors to open fully without hitting furniture.
